Who we are
Pelican Kitchen & Bath, LLC is a Bethesda, MD-based design-build firm, which employs an experienced team of designers and craftspeople, highly skilled in kitchen, bath and residential design and remodeling. We have decades of experience serving the Washington metropolitan area, with a particular focus on Bethesda, Chevy Chase, Potomac and Rockville in Maryland and Northwest Washington DC.
We are members of the National Kitchen and Bath Association (NKBA) and of the National Association of the Remodeling Industry (NARI).
We are licensed and insured.

How we work
At Pelican Kitchen & Bath, we work with our customers on a one-to-one basis, and we pride ourselves in renovations and remodels that fit your budget and design needs perfectly. We are committed to always completing projects on time and on budget.
Pelican Kitchen & Bath will meet with each customer, and together we will create a project plan that incorporates your vision, budget and space needs. Each project has its unique needs and Pelican works with you to choose the most appropriate approach.
Team
Our team is headed up by Bruce Kaplan and Joel Nazdin.
Bruce Kaplan, Design Manager
Bruce Kaplan has 35 years of experience in residential design and remodeling. During his extensive career, he has overseen and managed several large projects, including the construction of Walter Reed Medical Center, the USA Today building and the World Wildlife Fund building. Bruce was involved in a large apartment renovation project for the Charles E. Smith Companies, where he worked on updating more than 6,000 kitchens.
Always fascinated by modern design, carpentry and woodworking, Bruce founded Certified Woodworking, Inc., an architectural woodworking company that manufactured cabinets. He also worked with the Architectural Woodworking Institute to create architectural standards for architects working with wood.
A Silver Spring, MD native, Bruce studied architectural design at the renowned Parsons School of Design in New York.
Joel Nazdin, Project Manager
Joel Nazdin has more than three decades of experience in project management, financial management and corporate operations. Joel started his career at Blake Construction, one of the largest construction companies in the D.C. area. Involved in property management, Joel oversaw large renovation projects in commercial buildings.
Joel has an MBA from the University of Maryland. Originally from Silver Spring, MD, he now resides in Bethesda with his family.
